    OCS Exam 70-638

    Hi,

A few months ago I attended the Unified Communications and OCS training at Bytes presented by Neil. I must admit that the course was very enjoyable and I will reccomend it to any one interested in this field.

I am booked to write the exam on the 25th of January and was wondering if any one can assist me in obtaining study material. I see that the Microsoft press book is not released yet. I implemented the product at my organisation with some success, but I do not want to write the exam without proper preparation.

Also, if any one has written the exam, is it a toughy?

    Kind regards,

    Warren

    Re: OCS Exam 70-638

    Hi Warren

I just received the official trainer manuals for the OCS courses today. These are the courses 5177 - 5179. The course outlines can be found on the "Courses" tab on this site.

As yet I have not written the exam as I was waiting for the training material to be released. I am going to read through the manuals, extract the VPC's and do all the labs before attempting the exam. I have written many exams in the past and in my experience, it is very important to read the official cource material before attempting the exam. I have seen many people with vast amounts of experience on any given product fail the exam due to this fact.

So unfortunately I cannot give you any exam tips, but good luck on the 25th and let my know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Re: OCS Exam 70-638

    Hi Niel,

Thank you for the heads up. I just came back from the testing centre and I passed quite nicely with a mark of 978.

I must say, the exam was not as difficult as I would have thought. It was similar to the Vista configuration exam (70-620) with regards to simplicity of the questions. Peerhaps it is true that, when a new Microsoft exam is released, it is better to do it ASAP. That way you avoid the fine tuning process of the exam.

The OCS exam covered all topics presented in the course as well as the upgrade from LCS (Live Communication Server 2005).

I must just add that I would not have passed, had I not attended your course.

Once again, many thanks and good luck for the rest of 2008!

     Best regards,

    Warren.

    Re: OCS Exam 70-638

Let's step back a few years. After the massacre in Colorodo, the uppity-socialist Michael Moore attacked the issue of gun control in his documentary "Bowling ccip exams for Columbine." While his idealistic musings make Geraldo look like a genius, it's difficult to disagree with his stance on guns. Do we as civilians need access to these harbingers of destruction? The answer is and always will be a positive no. Anyone who disagrees is senseless microsoft mcpd inconsiderate. I highly doubt mr. NRA member would sing his "my gun is my right" tune the day after his child is murdered by a gun registered to his name. Because, and let's be brutally straightforward here, guns only serve one purpose. This purpose CAN be a good one. There are many things/people/rodents that deserve a lead nap cisco exams of the eternal kind. However, these are just outliers. Life is everything. For each individual it's the ONLY thing. After life, there lies nothing. So that brings me (quite easily) to the point of this entire article:
